THE DAILY RECORD ANNOUNCES 2014 MARYLAND’S TOP 100 WOMEN
Baltimore, Md., — The Daily Record named Senator Nancy J. King to its 2014 listing of Maryland’s Top 100 Women. “The Daily Record’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women was started 18 years ago to shine the spotlight on accomplished women throughout the state,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “The honorees are women who excel at their jobs. They are keenly devoted to bettering the communities where they live and work. They devote their time, their talents and their mentoring skills to improving Maryland’s businesses, its residents, its communities and its future women leaders.”
The Daily Record began Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 1996 to recognize outstanding achievement by women demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.
Three hundred and seventy women were nominated for the statewide honor. Nominees were asked to complete an application outlining their educational and career history, professional and community involvement, corporate and nonprofit board memberships and mentoring experience. They were encouraged to submit letters of recommendation from those who are familiar with their accomplishments professionally, in the community and through mentoring.
A panel of judges comprised of business professionals and past Maryland’s Top 100 Women winners from throughout Maryland reviewedthe applications and selectedthis year’s honorees.
In 2014, 63 women are first-time recipients. Fifteen women will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence. Circle of Excellence honorees will receive the award for a third and final time.
“Through Maryland’s Top 100 Women, The Daily Record recognizes 100 amazing leaders for stellar achievements in their careers, for their exemplary citizenship and for encouraging and shaping the lives of a younger generation through mentoring,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “These women share an amazing talent for balancing many facets of their lives. And we’re pretty certain they mastered what we all desire—the ability to get 25 hours of daily work done in an allotted 24.”
The awards were presented at a cocktail reception on Monday, May 5, at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St., in Baltimore. For a full listing of this year’s Top 100 Women, click here.
