HEADLINE

Dear Friends,

Welcome, and thank you for visiting me here at BowmanForSenate.com! My goal is to introduce myself as your candidate for Colorado Senate District 1, to connect on issues that are important to you, and to keep you informed about this campaign. I believe we have real power – with your support – to start saying ‘yes’ to sound policies that will make a difference in your communities and to start bridging gaps between rural and urban Colorado.

As a fifth-generation native of eastern Colorado, I have long understood the sometimes competing interests between our state’s rural and urban communities. I also believe that eastern Colorado hasn’t been fairly championed by its representatives in the past, and that opportunities for advancement have been sorely stifled. My passion has always been to serve and bring others together. It is for all these reasons that I’m honored – and very excited – to have the opportunity to serve the people of Senate District 1 and the state of Colorado.

One of the biggest opportunities before us is to capitalize on a new green revolution fueled by abundant sources of energy to which eastern Colorado lays claim. Much like the original green revolution which spurred agricultural commodities into the urban marketplace, we can likewise harness our wind, natural gas, and biomass resources to bring clean energy into Colorado’s metro areas. I have a strong history of connecting people from across the political spectrum to get results, and I will work hard to connect rural Colorado with those at the Capitol to create jobs, increase the tax base, and create economic development opportunities for the district.

Another focus of the campaign will be funding for public schools and higher-education in Colorado. Senate District 1, which covers much of east- and north-eastern Colorado, contains 48 of the state’s 176 school districts. As a graduate of Idalia School District in Yuma County, I understand well the role that schools play in our vast, rural landscape. Schools are the heartbeat of each community in eastern Colorado, and I believe that our wealth in local resources should also be reflected in the vibrancy of our schools.

My candidacy is about saying ‘yes’ to what makes sense for eastern Colorado. It is about serving the people – not as a representative of rigid political ideologies or well-funded interests – but as a representative of the farmer, the school teacher, and the individuals who live and work in our small communities. No matter your background, I am excited to learn more about you and the challenges you are facing. Please take a moment and visit the contact page and make a donation to the campaign.

Again, thank you for visiting BowmanForSenate.com and I look forward to your generous support. Together we can make a real difference for our communities and for Colorado as a whole!

Warm regards,

Michael Bowman
